Bonus Bet Calculator

Calculate the opposing cash hedge and estimate how much of a stake-not-returned bonus bet you can keep.

Enter bonus → Add both odds → Review the hedge

Step 1 of 3 — The bonus bet you received

The bonus bet you received

Find the bonus bet (bet credit) in your sportsbook account — usually under Promos or Rewards. Enter its face value only, not cash in your balance.

How much bonus credit are you converting? e.g. 150 for “$150 in bonus bets”

Where do I find this?

In the sportsbook app: Promos → available bonus bets, or the bet slip's “apply bonus bet” option shows each credit's value. Most bonus bets are stake-not-returned: a winning bonus bet pays only the winnings, never the credit itself — that's why this calculator exists.

What is a bonus bet?

A bonus bet is promotional wagering credit. It cannot normally be withdrawn directly, and its original stake is usually not returned when it wins.

Why do longer odds often convert better?

With a stake-not-returned bonus, only the winnings become cash. Longer odds create more potential winnings, although they normally require more cash in the opposing hedge account.

How do I find a suitable market?

Look for two directly opposing selections in a simple, liquid market. Confirm that both sportsbooks use the same event, line and settlement rules.

Common mistakes

  • Using a market with an uncovered draw
  • Choosing different lines
  • Ignoring overtime or settlement differences
  • Entering odds that have already moved
  • Starting without enough hedge bankroll

Is this the right calculator?

Use it when you already RECEIVED a bonus bet whose stake is not returned, and you have a funded account at another sportsbook. For the cash wager that unlocks a reward, use the Qualifying Bet Calculator; for "money back if it loses" offers, use First Bet Insurance.

Worked example

A $100 bonus bet at +400 (5.00), hedged at −450 (1.2222): the hedge is $327.27. If the bonus side wins you net $400 − $327.27 = $72.73; if the hedge wins you net $327.27 × 0.2222 = $72.72. Either way ≈ 72.7% of face value becomes withdrawable cash.
