Qualifying Bet Cost Calculator

Many promotions require you to place a real-money bet before the reward unlocks ("bet $5, get $150"). That bet is the qualifying bet. Hedging it on the opposite outcome at another book means you lose only a small, predictable amount — the qualifying loss — instead of gambling the stake.

The two sportsbooks' prices normally include a margin. Covering both sides therefore returns slightly less than your combined stakes. The exact cost depends entirely on the two prices you enter, which is why comparing sportsbooks matters.

A $100 qualifying bet at +100 (2.00), hedged at −110 (1.9091): the hedge is $104.76. Whichever side wins, the result is about −$4.76 — roughly 4.76% of the required wager — while the promotion's reward unlocks regardless. A closer pair may cost less; a wider pair may cost significantly more: $100 at −110 hedged at −110 on the other side would cost approximately $9.09, which is why entering the first convenient odds pair can be expensive.

Most promotions require the qualifying bet at minimum odds (often −200 / 1.50 or longer). Bets below the threshold silently fail to qualify — always check the promotion's terms, and this calculator will warn you when a linked promotion's minimum isn't met.

Use it when a promotion requires a real-money wager, the reward doesn't depend on your team winning, and you can cover the opposite outcome at another sportsbook. Do not use it for "get refunded if you lose" offers (First Bet Insurance), profit boosts, or deposit rollover.
